HisabKrlo — simple, bilingual accounting for small businesses
HisabKrlo is a small-business accounting app I'm building — invoicing, expenses, a running cashbook and basic tax, in English and Urdu. It isn't open yet. This page exists so the right people can find it early, before there's anything to click through.
What the name means
"Hisab kar lo" is everyday Urdu for "do the accounting" — closer to something you'd say to someone than a brand line. That's the idea behind the product too: bookkeeping that doesn't need to be translated, simplified, or handed to someone else before a business owner can read their own numbers. No English placeholder standing in for the real name — just what it says.
Who it's for
I'm building HisabKrlo for small businesses — shopkeepers, traders, small service providers — who currently keep their books however they can: a notebook, a spreadsheet, a WhatsApp thread with an accountant. People who'd rather keep their own numbers than outsource every entry, and who'd rather do it in the language they already run their business in. The branding reflects that from the start: English and Urdu/Arabic script side by side, not English with a translated label added afterward.
What it's being built to cover
The scope is deliberately narrow — the handful of things a small business actually touches every day, not a full accounting suite:
Invoicing
Raise and send invoices without learning new software vocabulary first.
Expenses
Log what goes out as easily as what comes in.
Cashbook
A running day-to-day record of cash in and cash out.
Basic tax
A plain view of what's owed, not a compliance department.
Where it stands today
HisabKrlo is in development. The name and the bilingual branding are finished; the product behind them isn't, and I'm not putting a launch date on this page until I can stand behind it. If that changes for you before it changes here, register your interest below and I'll reach out directly — not a mailing list, just a note when there's something worth trying.
Why I'm building it
I'm Muhammad Salman Ali Khan, an Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant in Dubai, Head of Projects at Techbot Information Technology LLC, and the founder of HisabKrlo. My day job is implementing Odoo ERP for mid-sized and larger businesses — good software, built for a scale most small businesses never reach and a budget most can't justify. HisabKrlo is mine, built on the side, for the businesses under that line.
